Welcome to Cardiff Chess Club! One of the largest chess clubs in Wales. Our club brings together chess enthusiasts of all levels for casual and competitive play.

Cardiff Chess Club is a not-for-profit organisation run by member volunteers. We have been promoting and supporting chess in Cardiff and the surrounding areas for over 140 years. We welcome players of all ages and skill levels. Please note that we are unable to provide formal lessons to juniors and beginners.

The club meets every Wednesday evening at the YMCA Plas from around 19:00 and finishes at 22:00. Rated games begin at 19:30, with a separate room available for casual play.

There is very limited parking space at the YMCA, we would recommend parking in The Parade CF24 3GP or East Grove CF24 3AE. There are parking meters, but it’s free after 6pm.
